I have trained very little in Akido, but i have used it in a real world application. id like to say it worked wonders, but it didnt. it got the job done, and it did stop the confrontation before anybody got seriously hurt, so i consider that a sucess. my native MA is capoeira, and switching between thoes two styles is so difficult. At their very nature they feel like polar opposites. i wish i could continue my akido training but my instructor had went into the air force, and left for iraq, leaving me with a thirst for it, but not much training completed.

Non Omnis Moriar.

(by the by...how'd the Taijitsu turn out?)

I've been training in Thai Boxing recently, and my insane work commitments at college at the moment have made it a struggle to continue in my trying different styles (the thai boxing gym is very near where I live). The Taijitsu is about 45mins away, so its a way down the list I'm afraid. I'll be sure to post about it when I get there!

Cheers for all the Aikido info everybody!

Even though you were able to use the Aikido successfully, what about it did you not like, in the end?

Yes, if it is alright, what did you use and what could have been better?

Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
