blood talon Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 hey, ive been taking muay thai for acouple of months now and i see that its more of a one on one thing. is there a way to modify my techniques to be ready in a multipule attack? Patrick gubek
Bon Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 Multiple attackers needs a whole new strategy.. You have to deep distance so there's never more than one guy who can reach you. You want to hit first and hit hard to drop them. You don't wanna end up on the ground so they can all kick you. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
Lau gar Posted May 20, 2002 Posted May 20, 2002 if i fought multiple attackers i'd keep moving round and take them out one on one _________________ white belt Lau Gar Kung Fu [ This Message was edited by: Lau gar on 2002-05-20 13:28 ] blue belt Lau Gar Kung fu"know your enemy"
Venezolano Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 Really, if fighting with one person it's difficult, imagine with two... i'd try to avoid that situation, and go away from there.. but if i don't have escape, and i would go to attack to the weakest opponent from both, and then, try deal with the other one, maybe using some "dirty" techniques, like strike the groins or something like that, because, if i am in disadvantage, it's just that i can play a "dirty" game too Valencia - Venezuela.
omnifinite Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 Nail the first guy hard... it'll help lower the morale of the others. 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu
Martial_Artist Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 I don't know about lowering morale, but hitting the first guy hard is a good idea. I've been unlucky enough to have been in a few of these situations and I didn't notice anyone's morale being lowered, but then again, things happen so fast who can notice? Anyways, it's excellent advice to hit the first guy HARD. "I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.Imagination is more important than knowledge.Knowledge is limited. G95champ Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 I am a karate person but to work with 2 or more attackers the key is to keep moving. Don't give them a target to focus on. When at all possible use the attackers agaist each other as a shield, blocker, etc. Many people say don't get your back to a wall I dieagree. I think if you can protect you blind side by getting something solid there. Above all else do not go to the ground in multi attacker situations. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
Karateka_latino Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 I may sound extreme, but in order to face several people, and you don't have the option of go away, Sorry but i think you must cripple them, you can't fool around trying to "box" 3 people that are trying the Hurt you. try to keep fresh all the techniques you learned about knee kicking, ball kicking, bone breaking, etc.. because you'll have to use them. and as soon as you can, run away from there. that's always an option. Don't play macho.
Kensai Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 For me, if I had no choice, I would try to get just one, break every bone in his arms, then hold his broken body infront of me, so that the other attackers wont come in for the same treatment. But like Submission said, RUN if you can. Take Care
