Hart Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I'm in my early 20's and have been trying to tone my abdominal muscles to no avail. I don't eat all that many fatty foods. I try doing crunches, but they don't seem to work. Has anyone here struggled with this?
Havoc88 Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 To be able to see a six-pack, you have to reduce the amounth of fat on your body. To bad you can't loose fat in a particular area, so you will have to lower your whole bodyfat%. So this by eating properly and doing a lot of cardio. Also, powertraining is usefull, since you do not want to look skinny.Your ab muscles are probably big enough to be seen, once the fat is gone. So endless chrunches will not work.Tom Train harder!Currently: 7th kyu, yellow belt
Hart Posted January 6, 2007 Author Posted January 6, 2007 Would you recommend the use of protein powders or other nutritional supplements?
Havoc88 Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I alway's advice the following. Suplements are to suplement your diet. First get as much out of your diet as possible. When your diet is good, than you can start to think about supplements. Tom Train harder!Currently: 7th kyu, yellow belt
Killer Miller Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Suplements should only be used if your body will not produce a particular nutrient. Otherwise, good food and cardio is the best solution...- Killer - Mizu No KokoroShodan - Nishiyama SenseiTable Tennis: http://www.jmblades.com/Auto Weblog: http://appliedauto.mypunbb.com/Auto Forum: http://appauto.wordpress.com/

bushido_man96 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 They say that you build your abs in the kitchen...so it has a lot to do with what goes into the body. Good advise given so far...I say go with them.I don't have a six pack.....I'm sporting the keg! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
sonofkanga Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Nothing wrong with a bit of extra protein if you are looking for muscle gain though.Actually there is the minor effect of too much protein which can cause kidney failure.Otherwise you are quite correct.
