SC_CKD Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Do you all think it would be effective? Like hitting the biceps and the head? I was reading an article in Black Belt they had a section on them they seem like they could do some real damage Theres nothing worse to fight than an angry martial artist
cathal Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I have a few friends who carry these and they feel it is effective - the training is quite pragamattic which is why many people will use them. They are very effective against temples, wrist bones, eye sockets, and skulls. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
lordtariel Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Are you referring to the expandable batons like the ASP or something small like the kubaton? There's no place like 127.0.0.1
cathal Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I'm referring to the latter, I hope that's what SC_CKD was talking about .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
SC_CKD Posted January 5, 2007 Author Posted January 5, 2007 yeah that is what im talking about not the baton. They are a smart little idea very concealable Theres nothing worse to fight than an angry martial artist
bushido_man96 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I carry a kubotan, but I have yet to use it. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
ARADOX Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I got two kubatons coz I thought I saw someone dual wielding them once, I don't really know how to use them, I will strike with them like to the temple or something but i'm told on good authority that they are quite complicated throws and flashy stuff with them, don't like all the flashy stuff, just wastes time and energy I wish I wish I hadn't killed that fish
ShotokanKid Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 What about the palm stick? I have one, just a few inches long made of rattan. Don't carry it though, haven't trained with it yet. lordtariel Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Your impact is focused on a small, hard point so the penetration is going to be better. I'm not entirely sure they're legal in my state though. I've never looked into it. Any other Oregonianites here know? There's no place like 127.0.0.1
bushido_man96 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I don't think carrying a 6" stick would be a problem. I have seen articles on the small stick, and it can be of some use. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
