Enter the Spaz Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I agree in part, and would like to add that gaining access to attack the throat is rarely direct. You will most likely need to attack other areas to create a distraction or make the opening, but it obviously depends on what your opponent is offering you at the time.I agree with this wholeheartedly Cross.
kangaroo Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I think it's important to try and negotiate first, but if verbal attempts fail, once you decide to engage physically, do not wait.He who waits meditates in a horizontal position - Ed Parker
gzk Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 cross sounds like he's trained in a similar system to me Do the initials JBW mean anything to you, cross? If you can read the warning signs and the fight is definitely on, you must strike first. The opening you choose will depend on how close you are to the opponent, and how confined the overall space is. If you are a middle distance away and the space is not too confined, take a big step to the right to get off their tracks, and throw a low inside leg kick with the left, just above the ankle. This has the potential both to topple a poorly balanced opponent and make it difficult for them to stand and move once balance is regained. Then, a strike with the right hand. Even if you miss, being off the opponent's tracks means you have some time to re-adjust.If you're close, a right elbow into the side of the jaw, or maybe cheekbones. Their head will snap nicely into the path of your left knee, the force of which you can multiply by slamming them downward with greater acceleration than gravity. stejitsu Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 If i think a situation is arising , i avoid. If its to do with my family and it develops in my view and i see my chance i sort it out.Dont let yourself be seen as an easy touch, whilst i say this do not be a bully either. I once read somewhere that people who are attacked are more likely to resemble a victim. If you stand strong people generally keep away, its always a tough call. obiwansbane Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 just thought i should mention this... it doesnt matter if they surrounded you and were just about to beat you to oblivion, you attack first, you risk assault charges... so i personally would wait for them to at least have some limb coming at me before hitting them (still premptive, they will go for the big obvious wind up, all u need is a quick jab to shake em up a bit, then u go with the full on attack) of course the best thing to do, is to take ure keys, put em in ure hand, and make them count... Brown belt... win trophies... grade... lose trophies... so much fun
cross Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 just thought i should mention this... it doesnt matter if they surrounded you and were just about to beat you to oblivion, you attack first, you risk assault charges... You dont attack first and you increase the already high risk of serious injury or death.so i personally would wait for them to at least have some limb coming at me before hitting them (still premptive, they will go for the big obvious wind up,Thats a pretty dangerous assumption, not all fights start with a big obvious windup.

I don't think attacking first in this scenario would get you into that much trouble. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
