A_Train
It sure was!It most certainly was. This makes a very interesting statement about the intentions of Varys. When he was questioned by Eddard about his loyalty, he stated that he 'serves the realm'. But if he is working with Illyrio, and I believe at this point they were talking about trying to force the Seven Kingdoms into war so they would be unprepared for the return of royalty. It would seem as though Varys has actually been sabotaging the realm, and Roberts/Joffrey's reigns specifically to set up for the return of Targaryeans. It should be intersesting to see what role he plays when Danaerys makes an appearence. bushido_man96
This is true. However, wasn't Ser Jorah being paid to keep track of her? He also was aware of the assassination attempt to be made on her, but stepped in, because he "fell in love" with her. I think he wanted her dead as well, but it went awry.I finished reading the teaser at the end of the fourth book for the fifth, and it was kind of interesting. I don't think that Dany is behaving how he wanted her to, and I am not sure if he expected the death of Viseris (can't spell). Also, what about the death of Drogo? How do you think that affected Varys' plans? One other thing is why hasn't he kept a tighter leash on Petyr Baelish? Doesn't it seem like he is in the lead at this point? Of course, that don't mean jack in Martin's books. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
A_Train
I havent read any of the teasers, I try to aoid them until the book comes out.As for the assasination attempt, I am pretty sure Ser Jorah was warned by Varys that Dany was to be poisened. They were at the dock side, when Jorah received his letter, and then immediatly stopped Dany from tasting the wine from the assasin. As for keeping Petyr on a leash I think he doesnt do that because he is unable to. Petyr is Varys' counterpart, and rival. The both had their own arrangement of spies and informers. As for the death of Drogo fitting into the plans, I think that was a wrench in the plans. I also believe Varys contact with Dany come mostly from Illyrio and Jorah, and now he has neither of those contacts, so it will be inetersting to see her reaction to him. bushido_man96
Those are good points, but I still think that maybe Vary could get rid of Littlefinger if he wanted to. He just seems to be in control. I think he has a plan for Petyr; I am just not sure what. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
bushido_man96
What do you think will happen with Brienne, and poor Podrick? I like her character as well, and I couldn't believe it when Biter ripped into her face.I have also enjoyed watching as Jaime learns to fight with his off-hand, working to get back to where he was. The sword fight between Brienne and Jaime was great as well. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
A_Train
Brienne is a tricky character. I rather enjoyed her as a minor character in Catelyns point of view, bu Im not entirely fond of her own chapters. I think that might change in the upcoming books, as she will surely live (and Podrick with her, I assume). The cliffhanger lies in what word she said at the conclusion of the book. It is probably 'sword' meaning she intends to hold her original oath to Catelyn and kill Jaime. But its possible she has said something else, like the knowledge that Sansa is alive.Jaime learning to fight is cool, I wonder who he will eventually fight, as I doubt the author would put so much ephasise on it if he would not actually become a good fighter again. Even so, I highly doubt Jaime will survive to the end of the series.I wonder what role he will play in Cersie's future as well. I play a wrestling game online. A_Train
He could wind up fighting the Clegane Monster, but I think that is more likely to be The Hound who faces off against that. I don tknow who Jaime will fight, probably someone else who is a 'good guy' like Jon perhaps. I play a wrestling game online. I don tknow who Jaime will fight, probably someone else who is a 'good guy' like Jon perhaps. The Hound is dead, isn't he? Arya left him for dead, and someone had stolen his helm; one of the rogue Bloody Mummers; it was Rorge or Biter who was wearing it.The way the story line is going, it would be interesting to see if and how Jaime and Jon would cross paths.I also anxiously await the return of Arya as well...... https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
A_Train
I wait the return of Arya as well, rumour has it she will appear in the next book as well. The Hound is supposedly technically dead yes, but there are clues to reveal that while The Hound is most likely dead, Sandor lives.
