I didn't care for the "Death Touch Ninja Guy" at all. And I was not at all pleased with the TKD guy, either. He was quick, but he could have worn a shirt.

I did see the other night how they had the TKD guy doing the reaction drill against the dummy, where they flashed the light, and he then did a series of hand and foot techniques. The kicks were to, like, the anlkes. I can kick really fast 2 inches off of the ground, too. Why not take me?

Oh, yeah, I know....I sport the keg, not the six pack!

I find it quite annoying that the person/people chosen to represent the Chinese martial arts were from Modern Wushu. The same is said for their blanket Karate grouping. In general, it was a bad program to actually learn anything about the styles. I'm not even sure if it was that entertaining, especially with too much commentary of the obvious and too much emphasis on flash and fluff. As well the odd (mis)use of Obata Sensei I also find it strange that they didn't get more out of Guro Inosanto. Then again, considering that in his short segment he managed to explain that simply being strongest doesn't mean much when you add skill into the mix regarding the supposed "weakness" of kali and their use of sticks, I can see that he can very easily undermine what the program makers wanted out of the show.

I was thoroughly annoyed by the TKD guy using the kitana. He was whipping and spinning the sword around one handed and he even tossed it into the air at one point. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that samurai didn't use it that way.

Eventhough it maby wasn't very educative, I did like it.

The japanese bo apealed to me! The TKD guy was pretty good with that weapon in my opinion.

I study shotokan so I do not know how weapons are taught. Do you really learn to use the japanese bo like that?

This is not ment to hyjack the thread or anything.

To answer your question on use of the bo. No that was more flash than anything. Keep in mind the it was not a Japanese Bo. The bo was an Okinawan weapon, this was one the inaccuracies in the show.
