YODA
LOL! I can remember in my 1st Muay Thai fight - my trainer yelling to me from the corner -"LOW - HIGH" and my opponent then assuming I was going to kick low then high. We had worked this as look low - kick high. WHAM! Caught him up side the head YODA2nd Degree Black Belt : Doce Pares Eskrima https://www.docepares.co.ukQualified Instructor : JKD Concepts https://www.jkdc.co.ukQualified Fitness Instructor (Weights, CV, Circuit, Kinesiology)

Withers M.A.A.
You should never fix your eyes on any one spot when fighting someone. Your eyes should see the entire pic and all your surroundings. If you focus on the eyes alone the person can trick you. If you focus on his hands he will kick you... etc. These are the words from Musasahi Miyamoto the greatest samurai ever. I totally agree with that. So don't focus on any one place. See your opponent in his entirity. crazydee
I've been doing martial arts since I was three, point sparring, full contact, real. Worse place to look is the eyes. You will miss a lot of things comming. Look at the midsection to the belt, that whole area. If the leg moves its obvious from there. If the hands move, its all part of the upper body and you should see that comming. But then again, seeing is one thing, reacting is another. And like someone else said earlier, don't stare at one spont the whole time, its the big picture. The center of the body is a good general feel of what the person will do. But I still say looking in the eyes sucks. Plus, people have fakes and all the other good stuff to throw you off. And, faking with your eyes is very effective if the people you spar are so into them. But, if you don' t believe nothing I say you can get your brains beaten out of you till you learn. KarateMom
Peripheral vision is the key. Motion detection is keenest in your peripheral vision. I agree! ~*KarateMom*~
