this is a off shoot from Shorinryu Shorinkan, has 14 shuri-te kata and 3 new katas, at the end of the clip you can see the first kata called SEIRU, pretty good kata done by the creator himself (65 years old, senei Matsuda),at the beginning part you can see the Kusanku dai(sorinkan version) done in slow pace.

I actually bought the VHS of the kata. I enjoyed it a lot. Some stuff similar to what I have learned with small differences and some off

Not trying to be disrespectfull to the performer, but doesn't he have a 'weird' way of executing the kata's? Almost a robot style or something.

Looks to me like he's just moving at an instructional pace. That's probably why it looks so robotic. He's not demonstrating the kata for timing or tempo, just what techniques are where.

From a shotokan perspective it may be weird because Shorin Ryu kata is performed differently and not so rhymtic and sport like. But this is what makes the different schools interesting.

What do you feel are the "sport like" elements of shotokan kata?

Overly long stances, modifications to original kata for the purpose of excercise and physical strength.
