Sounds like a way for someone to make money. Like Brandon Fisher said, how can one org say what's correct in different systems. For example: A BJJ school and Shotokan school register, whose standards are correct? Seems like a scam.

"It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."

The good thing about it is, you have checkable background when you register, and have credentials to show when asked,,, i don't think politics will get invovled with these

Actually, I feel that credentials are very much a part of politics. It used to be that you did something you loved, learned it through experience, like an apprentice, and then took over for the master, so to speak. Now, you are not allowed to know anything unless you get certificate or something that states that you have learned it, and it is ok for others to learn from you. There is good and bad to both.

I have said it in past posts, our school is not governed by any outside organization. I want to keep it that way. This allows us to train as taught by my instructor, his instructor, etc... without anyone charging us unheard of fees, or bringing any negative social politics to the dojo.

A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.

The problem with this is that your grades are only recognised within your own club, Don't shoot the messenger, i'm only repeating what i have heard time and time again...............

what's your view..?
