daizyblackbelt
I recently misplaced my beautiful baby bo, and i'm looking for a new one.Does anyone know of any good sites to look for a new one?I'm looking for a 1"-1.25" straight bo (i.e. not tapered), that isn't laquered in anyway. something durable, but no too expensive. isshinryu5toforever
It would be better to go to a local martial arts shop. This is just because for what you're looking for you could order the "same" product twice but get two different bos from two different places. It's better to just go find one. Unless you're looking for something custom like from crane mountain weapons, I don't think online is the way to go. He who knows others is wise. daizyblackbelt
i would love to.But unfortunately there are no martial arts shops in my area. With the absurd number of schools per capita, there SHOULD be, but no one has opened one. so i'm stuck ordering online.
Andrew_Patton
I usually always suggest https://www.crismaswoodworking.com for martial arts weaponry, the only thing is he only makes octagonal bo, and I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.Edit: site seems to be down, no luck, don't really know anyone else that makes inexpensive quality weaponry. Neo Dragon
If I were you unless you are looking for a specific type of wood for your bo I would recomend looking in some of your local hardware stores, and then modifying it to your specifications. Ex: sanding it down, adding decorations etc. Its cheaper and if you know your woods well it will give you something of comparable quality. Most people in my dojo do that instead of buying it cause around here they price from 20+. Hope this helps.
