BenefitMC Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 What is the type of sword that Jet li uses in the movie hero?ThanksBMC
lordtariel Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 It's a gim, also know as a jian, straight sword, or tai chi sword albeit a bit fancy. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Sengra Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Nice info.^_^ The stronger swordsman does not always win.

Traymond Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Loved the Spear tech of "Sky" Anyone practice spear? I'd love to learn itI've some qiang training...but never with a metal spear...always a wax wood bo and a flimsy bladed point haha. But I think Jet's Sword was a fantasy one I have never seen one like that in chinese martial arts before...My favorite sword would have to be Zatoichi's Cane sword...its amazing haha. SnakeStrike77 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Traymond, is "qiang" the name of that spear? Os is that spear training? Sorry, Im still new to all this. Where would you learn something like that? Blue Belt/Stripe in Shaolin Ch'uan Fa5 AnimalsJu-Jitsu "Be Hard as Earth, Fight like Fire, Move like the Wind, and Flow like Water"
Traymond Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 qiang, is just the general name for a spear. I'm not sure what time of spear it is, but generally it is a spear. Most Contemporary and modern wushu schools teach the spear and some certain tai chi schools teach it. I believe the Wu family is one of them.
