In America there are a lot of styles of kung fu that are available, though I wouldn't say any of them are really 'popular'. Here in my town, we have: Tai Chi, Ving Tsun, Hung Ga and San Shou. I know of Nothern Mantis, White Crane, Shaolin 5 Animal, and Southern Mantis schools in this state too, though most are far from where I live.

Usually, to find the schools, you just ask around, look in phone books, or search the internet. I found my Ving Tsun instructor by knowing someone who went to his class. Many other schools can be found just driving around and passing by.

That is a great way to locate schools. When I stay out of town, I like checking the yellow pages to see what kind of styles are available.

yes, i am from china.

if we want to practise martial art, few of us go to school. but most of us do think that the real chinese martial art is not in school.so i have never attended a martial art class, two of my tai chi teacher both were found in public garden.and they are not so famous, but their kung fu are really good, and out of you can imagine.
