Hanging Heavy Bags?

Canoe2fish

Recommended Posts

I bought a 100 lb heavy bag and hung it up in my basement. The block of wood I nailed between joists didn't do much to stop the floor (above) from moving when I was kicking the bag.

I welded up a spreader-bar mount that lags into 4 joists. That made a difference, but how do I control the bag from swinging wildly on every front kick? I was wondering if bungee cords attached from 4 directions (from the 4 main hanging hooks) would help control the swing while reducing the shock on the floor joists.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi all I too am interested in this.

Also how much swing do you get out of striking and kicking such a heavy bag and is this one the most heavy?

I am planning to attach our product to the heavy bag to offer some parry training and ability to strike and step around the bag at the same time but we dont want it to swing too much.
