cathal
If you do not want to change schools & you want to continue to spar in this manner then I suggest the following: Either ask the instructor to make an announcement or just tell everyone that they should respect the punch or kick to the face, meaning that you back off for 1 second & acknowledge the shot or you will go ahead & make contact. Garanteed if you clock a couple of people they will get the message. Ive experienced it. Take it from an old man. Thanks,Sensei TomSounds like a no-contact school, but they aren't well versed in no-contact sparring rules. Sensei Tom has it right, a no-contact school typically has this rule respecting the technique. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu

Rainbow_Warrior
Well...I solved the problem the other day , making a wrestling takedown against the guy who insisted after the ´´virtual contact´´. THe instructor said ´´ every technique ´´ , I worked very well , without the guy injured. But some people didnt like that. ´´ The evil may win a round , but not the fight ´´

Rainbow_Warrior
yes , the problem is that we train on a concrete floor...so I gotta be carefull.....This shcool LACKS 99 % of floor work too...So those guys suck there.Just learn some takedowns and sweep , but not submision at floor. ´´ The evil may win a round , but not the fight ´´
cathal
Does that school's style train with submissions at all? Perhaps they are there because they don't have submissions as part of their syllabus. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
Rainbow_Warrior
Yes...some Submisions...but not fully at floor.... Most standed techniques that lead to the floor.....but ends there..There are some speacials seminars of floor work...but...... ´´ The evil may win a round , but not the fight ´´
