Jiffy Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 If you are looking at submission, Judo would be better than JJJ!! The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Zapatista Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 okay, Judo it is then. I appreciate all the help/suggestions I've gotten from you all, it's pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!
bushido_man96 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Good to see that you were able to figure out what you wanted to do. Best of luck to you, and enjoy your journey!! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Zapatista Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 Another question: is there a rule in BJJ/submission competitions that prevents a person from being too slippery? What I mean is I sweat a lot! (although I'm out of shape and trying to change that, I still sweat from certain things) and I'm just curious to see if that would affect my training or not? I hope the question is clear because it's in my mind and it makes sense but it's hard for me to put it into words.
ps1 Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 As long as it's natural, it's not a problem. Now if you were wiping vasoline on yourself, that would be illegal. Besides, if you're starting with Judo, you'll be wearing a gi anyway. Don't worry about it...just have fun. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
