lordtariel Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Sticky blocking... I know what it is but I really have problems explaining it to other students. I learned it in the context of the gim and I'm trying to apply the same principle to the bo. We had a few great drills for the sword, but unfortunatly they don't really transfer to the bo. Anyone out there have any good drills to work on this technique? There's no place like 127.0.0.1
daizyblackbelt Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 i'm not exactly sure what you mean. i'm familiar with sticky hands blocking drills, sometimes used in goju-ryu, but that's empty hand.could you elaborate on what you're looking for?
lordtariel Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 It's where you stick and adhere to your opponents weapon when they attack rather than knocking it away or taking a hard block. Hope it makes sense. Again, easier for me to do, harder to explain. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
