Rainbow_Warrior
Hey...When I was younger , I did some years of practice in western fencing. I loved it....but my instructor died ( he was a 80 years spaniard)..and left the practice. The other day...I was reading about eskrima (that weapon martial art , that is a filipine-spanish word that means fencing - in pure spanish you say esgrima , pretty similar) , and they concentrate most of time in weapons.... Seems good...But now , I would like to practice two handed sword fencing....I mean with big claymores, as seen in Braveheart movie....I know that I may sound mad ( and idiot)....but do yo know if that kind of activity does exist ? ´´ The evil may win a round , but not the fight ´´

Sengra
Why don't you try fencing again..=)..hehe..Also, why don't you give escrima (or arnis as we call it here in the Philippines) a try. Maybe it would help. Just like you, I also want to learn how to use medieval weapons...=)..Maybe someday soon..(ah..dreams). There are still living european masters that teach them right? I haven't actually read the sites mentioned above. The stronger swordsman does not always win.

I would love to learn from one of them, because the fighting I do with my friends once a week lacks some structure.I would love to learn arnis. I am very intrigued by the Phillipene arts. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Sengra
I know there are already arnis schools outside the Philippines. I also heard from my teachers that foreigners come here to learn from the local arnis masters. I admit that I only know basic arnis as it is recquired in the Physical Ed. of some schools here. I took arnis as a PE class last semester. My teachers were good, they got the gold in the Southeast Asian Games held here. I really would like to pursue further training, but as I don't have the money and time, this dream of mine would have to wait. My fencing sked also prevents me from joining the arnis club. The stronger swordsman does not always win.
