TigerCrane Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Who believes in the existence of Chi and why? Gong Kiu, Yau Kiu, Bik Kiu, Jik Kiu, Fun Kiu, Ding Kiu, Chieun Kiu, Tai Kiu, Lau Kiu, Wan Kiu, Jai Kiu, Deng Kiu.
bushido_man96 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Well, I think chi exists, but I don't think of it as anything overly mystical. I think it is our life force, an energy that everyone has. Some may have learned how to channel it, and some may not have. I believe that if you try to visualize your power as coming from the center of your body, then you are attempting to utilize your chi. I like to think of it as "internal energy." https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
cathal Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I've posted on this topic before, there was a show in Discovery channel and they were trying to prove it's existence scientifically. They were doing some fascinating measurements and they concluded it did exist but we lacked the technology to measure it fully. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
CTTKDKing Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Really?!? That's cool. What type of measurements did they take on the show. I've never heard of anyone trying to measure it before. "The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering."
cathal Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 It was a lot of electrodes on the people's bodies. They had normal people as well as exceptional people like professional athletes, martial artists, zen practitioners, etc. I can't seem to find the information but I am going to try hunting it down. There was also some interesting work with polygraphs, since they measure things like that as well. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
CTTKDKing Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 That's quite cool. I'm keeping an eye on this topic, so if you get the info, let me know. "The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering."
Jiffy Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Probably best to do a search, there are TONS of topics on this one.... The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Jeet Kune Do Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 yeah, internal energy A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
stonecrusher69 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Instead of tring to find if Chi exists or don't why not just try it out and see for your self if it's real or not. http://www.youtube.com/user/sifumcilwrath"When the student is ready the master will appear"
TigerCrane Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 It can be thought of as "Bioelectricity" as well.It is best to learn the Chi Gung exercises and see for yourself, as different people will provide different explanations and theories behind it.
