Withers M.A.A. Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 how do you slide forward without putting the other foot down? it's pretty easy actuall.... Position your standing foot so your toes point towards the back wall. Your standing foot will be positioned 180 degrees from your kicking leg. Keep most of your weight on you back leg. As you kick you do a tiny skip (not hop) forward. So the sequence would be lift the kicking leg, slide forward, kick, slide again, kick, etc. There is a small skip between EVERY kick. Practice doing the motions without actually kicking your leg out. Just lift the kicking leg, slide, slide. One more thing... do not drop your kicking leg at any point or you will have a hard time pulling it off. 2nd Degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. 1997 NASKA competitor-2nd place Nationally in Blackbelt American Forms.
