Cowboys…Cowboys…Cowboys!! That’s about all I have to say!! McCarthy’s days as the Cowboys Head Coach are quickly coming to an end!! Right now, the only good thing about America’s Team is the America’s Sweethearts!!

:D

It has been so bad for the Cowboys this year even the stadium is having a bad season.  A few hours before the game a piece of metal fell from the roof and onto the football field.  Thankfully nobody was injured.

I remember years ago when the Metrodome roof caved in because of the snow and wind.  There was a hole in the roof and the snow fell on the field as the entire place deflated.  Thankfully it happened around 5am and nobody was in the building at the time, but it required the Vikings to finish the season at the University of Minnesota stadium, outdoors.  They played in the same stadium for several years while the new dome was being build.

Snow game in Cleveland!  Browns score a late TD to pull an upset against their longtime rival the Steelers.  Final score was 24-19.

We do not get many snow games in the NFL, but I love it when we do, I always enjoy watching football in bad weather.  Snow, rain, wind...makes it more fun.

That game was insane!! Saw one fan wearing only shorts…YIKES!! I was impressed how the grounds crew staff kept the field so orderly with leaf blowers!!

I remember the Snowball game in 2017 with the Colts and Bills. 17 inches of snow…give me a beak!!

Glad to see Browns with the win because they’re struggling a lot and my heart goes out to the teams that have the job of being the spoiler team for the top teams.

Just gotta love the underdog!!

GO COWBOYS (Even though they are out of the playoffs)

:)

There have been a good number of memorable snow games over the years in the NFL.  Bob I am sure you can recall the Thanksgiving game between the Dolphins and Cowboys back in the 90s where the field was covered in snow.  That was the game where Leon Lett blew it for the Cowboys.  I think it was in 1993.

The most recent major snow game I recall, before last night, was in December of 2022 when the Dolphins played at the Bills.  Though not as bad as the weather last night.  I feel like there might have been one last year but I can't recall off the top of my head.

Then there is the famous playoff game between the Raiders and Patriots where the fumble was overturned into an incomplete pass via the Tuck Rule, and the Patriots Adam Vinatieri hits a 45-yard FG into the wind in the blizzard, still considered by many to be the greatest FG kick in NFL history.  While it looked like the Patriots season was over, they instead went on to win the Super Bowl, the first for Brady.

While most of the snow games I think are in Buffalo, New England, Cleveland, or Green Bay, there have been others.  The Lions played in a snowstorm when they visited the Eagles in 2013, and there was the terrible game in Giants Stadium back in 1995 where the Giants fans were throwing snowballs at the Chargers players, one of them was an iceball that injured a cameraman.  I remember some snow games in Chicago, Seattle, Denver, and Kansas City.  Maybe Pittsburgh also.

I do remember the Sleet Bowl between the Cowboys VS Dolphins back in ‘93. Lett’s tried but in those conditions I can’t blame him for the Dolphin win.

You list some CRAZY SNOW CONDITION games that still blow my mind!! I remember that Tuck Game…what a player(s)/teams won’t do to win a game.

I can remember that there have been about half-a-dozen MLB games games that have been played during a snowstorm!!

Crazy pro players…one and all!

Yeah there have definitely been some wild games in bad weather.  In baseball sometimes you get the animal interference, birds, bees, ect that require the game to stop for a few moments.  Then there was the time Randy Johnson hit a bird while pitching during a preseason game.

There have been some other bad weather games in the NFL that were not snow.  A few years ago a Monday Night game in Buffalo was so windy that the Patriots only had three pass attempts the entire game.  If you had the wind to your back, you couldn't even throw the ball.

Looks like the Eagles are going to win, they are up 30-14 in the 4th, and if they do they will improve to 9-2.  Dallas pulled an upset today in Washington, and the Packers beat the 49ers, dropping San Fran to last place at 5-6, but only one back of Seattle, so while the 49ers have had a tougher time this year the division is very much in reach.  Titans also pulled an upset for the Texans,

Other winners were the Chiefs, Dolphins, Lions, Vikings, Bucs, Broncos, and Seahawks.  Ravens and Chargers play on Monday.  Jaguars had a bye week.

Poor bird!!

MLB, for good reasons, will shut the game down whenever there’s lightning in the area!! But, snow, sure let’s keep playing as though it’s the NFL.

On another note…

The Raiders, my wife’s favorite team of all, lost to the Broncos at home 29-19, their 7th straight loss, which will soon be 8 straight losses when they play against the hosting Chiefs.

Raiders are saying after their most disappointing loss that they’re dealing with QB uncertainty after losing Minshew with a season-ending collarbone injury.

Wait!!

Raiders signed Minshew to a 2-year contract that I believe that the Raiders wasted a lot of money. Minshew has not been the diamond QB, just like Prescott. First Raiders play yesterday against the Broncos, Minshew drops the football, which to me was an omen of how that game was going to end…with another loss!!

Get rid of Minshew!! Yes, he’s out for the rest of the season, but either trade him or make him the 3rd string QB.

Minshew is not the only problem!! Perhaps the Raiders Head Coach needs to be fired!! Something’s seriously wrong with the Raiders because I don’t believe that the Raiders are that bad of a team!! Raiders stall badly in the Red Zone consistently!!

Poor Raiders!!

On the Cowboys…

Cowboys need to fired McCarthy and hire Belichick!! Problem with that is that Belichick wants to be both the Head Coach AND the GM. Jones has been the GM of the Cowboys ever since he bought the Cowboys, and I don’t see Jones relinquishing the GM spot to anyone, including Belichick!!

Oh yeah, fire Dak!! That won’t happen because Jones loves him!! Jones must love losing more than winning.

What’s a NFL team have to do??

:-)

The Cowboys would be smart to hire Belichick, but like you said, Jerry would have to give up a lot of his control.  Is he willing to do that? Maybe, but it would be a big step out of character for him to do so.

Bill had a funny story on MacAee last week about how some of the owners, in this case Art Modell, listen more to the media than their own head coach.  He said Art came to him and asked "does your defensive coordinator really know what he is doing?"  Bill's defensive coordinator at the time was Nick Saban.

Everyone on the show had a good laugh about that one!
