With AI manufacturing information that looks real, and news outlets not always making sure their reporting is accurate (example Howard Stern being fired) it is easy to be misled. I'm sure I have fallen for stuff that wasn't legit.
KarateKen Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) Tampa squeaked by the NY Jets on Sunday, 29-27, so thanks to @bushido_man96 for the recommendation as I won this week in survival league and kept the Bills, who are a frontrunner pick for me in week four. Other winners in early games on Suday included the Steelers, Eagles, Commanders, Vikings, Panthers, Jaguars, Colts, and the Browns who pulled an upset against the Packers. Late game winners on Sunday afternoon were the Bears, 49ers, Seahawks, and Chargers. Chiefs play at the NY Giants tonight and the Lions visit the Ravens on Monday. sensei8 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 After what appeared to be a promising season for my wife’s Raiders and my Cowboys, reality reared its ugly head. Raiders lost again today against the hosting Commanders who had a commanding effort for the final score 41-24. As for now, the Raiders are 1-2-0. Raiders will host the 1-2-0 Bears on September 28, 2025. Cowboys lost again today against the hosting Bears who mauled the Cowboys relentlessly to the final score of 31-14. As for now, the Cowboys are 1-2-0. Cowboys will face the hosting Packers on September 28, 2025. Regular season just started but the Raiders and the Cowboys are not any better off no matter who they’ve added to their organization’s. GO COWBOYS!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
KarateKen Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Wilson booed during the Giants ugly loss at home to the Chiefs on Sunday night. Might be time for the Giants to put in Jaxson Dart, their young QB. In two of the three first games the Giants failed to score a touchdown. Their season is basically over already so the calls for a QB change are coming in from fans. Either way it is a bad start to what will be a long season in NY. The Jets are also 0-3. Not sure who is worse at this point.
KarateKen Posted September 23 Posted September 23 (edited) An impressive early season game by Lions Monday night in their 38-30 victory in Baltimore. They sacked Jackson seven times, forced a Henry fumble, and had two drives of over 95 yards for touchdowns. The last time the Ravens had given up a 95-yard TD drive at home was in 2001. Fantastic performance by the Lions offense who ran the ball very well and Goff looked great, making a perfect throw late in the game on 4th down. They will fly home tonight and play the Browns on Sunday. Lions improve to 2-1, Ravens fall to 1-2. Edited September 23 by KarateKen

Have always had a soft spot for the Ravens too since the Ray Lewis days but they are one of the biggest threats to the Bills finally winning a superbowl so every close loss they can rack up is a win for the Bills!

The Bills have a good early season lead on the Ravens in the battle for home field, and I expect both teams to be in the thick of the Super Bowl hunt again this year. The Bills are the biggest favorite in the league this week (currently 16.5 points), they play at home against the Saints. The second biggest favorite is the Lions (10 points), who play at home against the Browns. I can choose either in my Survivor League. Other heavy favorites are the Broncos (7.5) the Texans (7) and the Chargers (6.5) I could also pick any of those in Survivor, except the Broncos. I had them week one. I think I am going with Detroit. If they can play all season like they did on Monday, they are going to be very tough to beat.
KarateKen Posted September 26 Posted September 26 In the Thursday night game, the Seahawks defeated the Cardinals 23-20. Seattle improves to 3-1 Arizona drops to 2-2. Good win for Seattle on the road inside the division.
KarateKen Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Some winners from the early games were the Steelers, Lions (yay!), Bills, Eagles, Patriots, Falcons, Texans, and the Giants pulled the upset of the week beating the Chargers. It was the first loss of the season for the Chargers and Bucs. The late games included another underwhelming performance by the Ravens. They fall to 1-3 because they have played the Bills, Lions, and Chiefs, in their first four. The Ravens have become one of those teams that can't get over the final hurdle. They are talented and they are in the thick of the playoffs every year but against the best teams in the big games they continue to come up empty. KC wins it in 37-20. Rams hand the Colts their first loss, Bears beat the Raiders, and the Jaguars win in San Fran. Packers and Cowboys will kick off in a little bit. Congrats to @bushido_man96 and sorry to @sensei8 as it looks like another tough Sunday. Maybe the Cowboys can pull a win tonight, but I wouldn't bet on it. Packers and Cowboys end it a TIE at 40. Packers are 2-1-1 Cowboys 1-2-1. Edited September 29 by KarateKen updated information
KarateKen Posted Monday at 11:01 PM Posted Monday at 11:01 PM The NFL has announced that Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl halftime show. I don't know who that is, I am not up to date on current music. There were rumors about it being offered to Taylor Swift, but from what I read her team and the NFL could not find common ground. I was curious if it would be Metallica, since they are from San Francisco and that is where the game will be held. I don't know if they were offered or not. Some artists won't do the Super Bowl because of the pressure to perform in front of so many people. Others won't because it is lip synced to a track. Also, the artists do not get paid for doing the halftime show, as the NFL considers it "publicity" so the artists do not get a paycheck. A band like Metallica does not need the promotion, so that is not a reason for them to do it. Some fans were unhappy last week when Roger Goodell announced that putting the Super Bowl on a paid streaming service was "certainly possible." The league already requires a paid streaming service for many games including Thursday nights and Christmas, and with streaming being the future of live sports, I would expect it to happen at some point, though that is still many years away.
