Questions now as to if Rodgers will retire or continue playing with a new team.  Maybe...the Las Vegas Raiders??  Another possible landing is the Steelers if Wilson and Fields, who are both free agents, end up leaving.  

They should have moved on the year prior, but that's the Jets for you.  I think at this point in Aaron Rodgers's career, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.  I think he's too much of  a disruption to be a positive addition to any locker room.  If he wants to play, someone will sign him, and the Raiders could use a bridge QB with some clout to get a rebuild jump-started.

Chiefs are looking to franchise tag Trey Smith, and Travis Kelce has confirmed he will be back next season.

Everything seems to be smelling like roses for the Raiders, especially whenever I watch any Raiders press conferences and interviews as of late. 

Let’s see if that optimism carries over into the gridiron this upcoming season.

Chiefs traded Joe Thuney, likely in a move to clear up space to sign Trey Smith long term.  It sucks to see him go, but I trust the powers that be know what they are doing.  They currently have to LT's on the roster that aren't so good at playing LT, so it's likely one of them will bump in to guard.  Or, they feel that Caliendo filled in well enough when they kicked Thuney out to LT that they feel comfortable going with him at LG moving forward.

I'm sorry to see him go; he's been a great mainstay for an awesome interior line.  But, that's the business of football.

On another note, the Seahawks released Tyler Lockett, and shortly thereafter DK Metcalf requested a trade.  Those are some good receivers hitting the market.

Raiders now have a new QB…Geno Smith from the Seahawks in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick. Seahawks are now pursuing Sam Darnold from the Vikings.

Geno and HC Pete Carroll are quite familiar with each other…they once were with the Seahawks together.

We’ll see what we see when we see it.

Geno Smith will provide a stable bridge to the QB of the future for the Raiders.  The question is, will they find the QB of the future in this draft or in next year's draft?

The 50-million-dollar failure that has been Kirk Cousins may get a second shot in Atlanta.  The Falcons have announced they do not plan to cut Cousins after his disappointing 2024 season.  Trading the QB also seems unlikely because it would be a big cap hit for the team, 37.5 million, only saving the Falcons 2.5 million if they get rid of him.  Either way Kirk is going to get a big paycheck from the Falcons in 2025. 

The Buccaneers have resigned LB Lavante David for 10 million dollars on a one-year contract.

The Bills have given four-year extensions to both WB Khalil Shakir (60 million) and LB Terrell Bernard (50 million). 

Cowboys have resigned DT Osa Odighizuwa for four years and 80 million dollars, 56 million is guaranteed.
