Karate Camp(For Grownups)

I've seen the occasional martial arts summer camp for kids, but what about for the grownups? I could really go for a week or even just a weekend long retreat for nothing but training. Anyone know of any karate retreats on the west coast? Preferably in southern washington/oregon/northern califorina? Anyone have any experience with them?

I don't know of any karate camps around, but I have had experience with such activities. I think it was in 1994, I went to the Rocky Mountain Workout that the ATA held. It was a weekend thing, with an assortment of different classes you could take. You got about three or four in per day, and broke for lunch and dinner.

I had a blast. I hope you can find one, too!

in australia there is a camp for adults. its for martial artists of all styles and its very casual. just a chance to train with a bunch of other people.

i havent actually been but hope to go this year. its called the portsea MA camp. its in melbourne australia. im sure there would be some everywhere.

Now you use head for something other than target.

Our organization holds a karate camp every year around Memorial Day. It's for both adults and kids. Training classes are held on various subjects like learning new katas to Ju Jitsu training.

You can find out more info here and can also contact our Grand Master (Don Madden)

We do it annually in the summer. We've had a lot of success in the past, this year was pretty good as well. :) Regrettably though we're on the Atlantic coast of Canada...you probably are too far away.

This isn't quite karate, but it's the same concept... http://www.paradisewarriorretreat.com/

Wow, that would be one heck of an opportunity! Didn't see a price, though. What do you suppose the tag is on it??

Hit "upcoming event's" the flyers there with pricing. Looks like $165 a day, or 3 day seminar $395 without accomidations $585 with accomidations. I used to be stationed very close to there, that resort is really nice, or used to be.
