Possible Jobs

I'm currently going through the last few years of highschool and naturally I'm looking towards the future, mainly jobs.

I would love to make a living doing what I love (martail arts) but realize that the job pool isn't really that large. I am planning on opening my own school later in life when I have enough knowlegde and capitail to do so.But before that I need something else.

Getting to the point, I'm looking for something realated to martial arts, such as, law enforcement, bouncer, bodyguard, etc.

Money is lower on my priority list but would be nice to have , lol

So if any of you that have these sorts of jobs or know anything about them could give me some choices i might have, and the pros and cons of said choices, I would be very grateful.

As a side note I have been doing martail arts steady for four years now, and am willing to devote my life to it, if some of you would be conserned with this possibly just being a fantasy, I also realize the risk involved with these jobs and am willing to take these risks.

I work for a detention center. I work nights mainly, so we get in some rowdys from time to time. I enjoy it, and you have to stay aware, and always use your head to keep things on the safe side.

You should check with elbows_and_knees. He bounces at a night club, and is very knowledgable.

I'm in the same boat. Junior in high school, wants very much to have a MA related job...I'm pretty sure what I'm gonna end up going for is double majoring in Japanese and East Asian Studies (focus on Japan), and being a translator/interpreter and trying to get in on the big name companies.

I have given some thought to security at some places, not particularly malls, but hey what ever brings in the bread

wow all three of us have something in comand, i plan to open up my own kungfu school and eventually a franchise. andi am also in highschool( sophmore to be exact) i would choose possibly a bodyguard, or if u want to be a bouncer, id make sure i pick a club that dose not have a huge rep for alot of fights , and when they do they dont get to big or horrible so u dont have as big of a chance of getting shot or stabbed etc, even if i hate the music, over all hiphop is my favorite music style but because of the high rate of people getting shot or killed for the dumbest things own the planet so i would not choose a hiphop club, i would probably choose something like a country music club. and just to make sure nothing dose happen u might want consider wearing a bullet proof vest, just incase.[/b]

Most places aren't going to hire you for bouncing or security work if you're under 17...at least in my area anyway. But a friend of mine gained employment in a women's self defense program at one of our local gyms. He went on from there.
