ZeRo Posted May 3, 2002 Posted May 3, 2002 hi im starting kick boxing tomorrow and wondered if anyone had any tips or pointers while sparing? thanks for your help.
Lau gar Posted May 3, 2002 Posted May 3, 2002 see footwork and distancing on general martial arts theres also some other stuff on some other forum subjects blue belt Lau Gar Kung fu"know your enemy"
kicker Posted May 3, 2002 Posted May 3, 2002 First learn the basics and after a few classes you can try to spar Or just go spar and get your butt kicked It's your choice when you do your best it`s going to show. "If you watch the pros, You will learn something new"
Bon Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 I doubt you'll spar for a few months, let alone in your first class.. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
ZeRo Posted May 4, 2002 Author Posted May 4, 2002 thanks guys didnt sparr but i did have alot of fun learning stuff. really do need to get some hand raps though
Eye of the Tiger Posted May 11, 2002 Posted May 11, 2002 I'v also started kickboxing recently and the best thing I can tell you is to do a lot of circuit training and hopefully if your are right hard nut your love it, (not for *****s)
Eye of the Tiger Posted May 11, 2002 Posted May 11, 2002 I have recently started kickboxing and I have also done about 2 years of karate. I am 14 and the best tips I can give you is to do circuit raing at the gym to build up strengh, fitness(cardio vascular) and enduranece. The other is to be tough. I'll be honest with you kickboxing is not for *****s, If you want to do i you have to be pretty hard otherwise your not goona like when you get really hard with kicks and punches flighing at your face, also go with your own partner that is similar size to you, I got put with this massive adult and that hurt!!
ZeRo Posted May 11, 2002 Author Posted May 11, 2002 we do stamina at are place (AKA) where he say like sprint then push ups then knee jumps ect. and today i sparred for the first time! i kept my guard up and got a few good kicks and punches in. this was mostly from the tips on thing forum! thanks people!
