I was soooooo bummed when I heard that. Specially after hearing my best friend's dog dying last weekend, too. I was camping so I came home to all this bad news. My camping trip sucked, too (got the rain and the wind from the hurricane or tropical storm that was left all weekend).

Its amazing how the death of steve has affected the entire world.

here in australia it is pretty solemn, and all that a lot of people are talking about.

he was a great character. my thoughts go out to his family and friends.

I don't think he would have wanted to leave this earth at his young age, but he left doing what he loved. He was inspiring to watch because he showed pure love and respect for all animals.

His family was offered a state funeral for Steve. Just shows how much he meant to the Australian people as well as the rest of the world.

It was horrible to hear about the bunch of mutilated sting rays being found on the shores of ozzy beaches. It totally went against everything Irwin stood for.

Also I can't believe the amount of joke emails I have had about this already - truly awful.

I must admit it was a terrible thing, but the jokes that I got in my email and by text were pretty damn funny. I'm a terrible person!

I just think that sometimes they come too soon, everyone is entitled to their own opinion - terrible or not, but have a little respect at times, same day emails arent funny.
