I am trying to keep updated on all this stuff, so if you know of any appearances, tournaments, seminars, etc. going on in or around NYC, Jersey City, or that area, let me know. isshinryu5toforever Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Is that open to only AOKA students? He who knows others is wise. jay46 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Is that open to only AOKA students?AS far as I know, anyone can compete as long as you pay the entrance fee.Info page:http://www.aokainc.com/AOKA2005/Events/eventdetails/AOKA2006tourn.htmlMy family has been to and competed in the past two. It's a well run event. If we can clear a prior commitment we might even make it this year. There are some other events held regularly throughout the year. BKG tournament in Lincroft, NJ in early June. Golden Rule Tournament Oxford, NJ in February.Sensei Hughes School of Isshinryu Tournament in April . Though he's running the World Tourney end of June in Princeton so there might not be the April tournament.

It's $10 less than it was last year.
