I am about to re-join a wado ryu school after a 10 year gap and would like to brush up on what little I do know before I start the class. I managed to gain an orange belt last time around but I am assuming that after 10 years I will have to re-start at white? I don't mind this but I would like to be ready for the first grading so I can get back to where I was.

I was wondering if there were any online demonstrations of the 10th/9th Kyu syllabus? I remember visiting a site once which had little video clips of the kata and a few moves...It would be very helpful to find something like this.

Thanks

hmmm... probably the kiho no kata, maybe naihanchi? Pinan Nidan and maybe Shodan?

These are from Shito-Ryu, but they are fundamentally the same as the wado kata, the heian are the pinan...

Hope this helps, and if you did the ippon kumite katas, you can just punch those into youtube.com Let us know how much fun it is getting back into it!

I recently bought a Doug James video from Amazon (the second one, purple to brown, but he also does one covering the earlier grades), it's worth a look at.
