My Religion and Martial Arts

My school is particularly christian. the owner requires all his instructors to be born again christians. all the schools in my area are christian dojos.i don't know if there are any budist schools out there. your religion should not interfere with your learning the arts though.

I agree. You should Probably talk to your religious counsel. They can tell you a little bit better .

The Buddhist monks invented Kung-Fu if I remember correctly and in Japan, the majority of the Samurai were Buddhist. So I'm sure you can do martial arts if you wanted to. It all boils down to what you believe. I'll leave you with that because I don't know enough about Buddhism to say much more, I may say something disrespectful. Best of luck.

im buddhist and i take martial arts and i fight for sport. but my main belief is in bushido

if I remember correctly and in Japan, the majority of the Samurai were Buddhist.

The Samurai class began to incorporate some of the Buddist teachings into their training because they admired some of the mental and spiritual aspects of the training. Buddists didn't become samurai, the samurai became Buddists.

Yes i see no problem in it , Buddhism concentrates on the spritual side of things just as much as MA does , so i think it would be a good mix.
