bushido_man96
Oh, I see. Thanks. Why can't we just call it that, again?... You would have to view the old thread about Japanese vs. English (language) in training. And by the way, taking my shirt off would probably scare off many innocent bystanders, so I would only use it as a last resort! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

If I took off my shirt, it'd have sort of a flash-bang effect, minus the concussion - pretty much just blinding whiteness. Which is why I always wear a shirt under my gi. Abraham_lincoln
I'm one of those people who's done a lot of research on the ninja. One interesting thing I came across was that nunchaku were just invented to look cool in movies, and weren't actually used by anyone before Bruce Lee.Edit: Oh, right, the actual question. I wouldn't think that they are practical as weapons, because first, they are so hard to have any control over, and second, they really aren't much of a range increase. You might as well use a kick or something, that's probably about the same range, anyway.

The nunchaku were used on Okinawa as a horse bit and as a farm implement of sorts. The last part may or may not be true because according to the Ryukyu Hozon Shinkko Kobudo Kai the nunchaku was not used as flail of any type just a horse bit. The original nunchaku looked like this: http://www.weaponsconnection.com/weapon_images/s_orig_nun.gifThen evolved into this: http://www.shurite.dk/Modules/Articles/nunchaku.jpg Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do
