Akaratechick
I'm not sure if that is what they are called but they are those painful bruises that you feel but can't really see on the ball of your foot. I think I got it from an axe kick maybe, don't know but just when I think it's gone, it comes back. I tried wearing my MA shoes tonight but can't really pivot too well in them and they didn't really help since they are very thin soled. It feels like I am stepping on a rock when I get on the ball of my foot Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this before and how to prevent or treat them. probably just tough it out like everything else "All your life you are told the things you cannot do. They will say you're not good enough, strong enough or talented enough; you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. ………..…. “AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES."Nike Ad.
Jiffy
Pretty much.... there's not a whole lot you can do about them, just keep off them a bit. The shoes are great, but as you said, they grip which makes it hard to pivot. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Jiffy
Actually, I would love to find out what was in that magical formula that Mr. Miyagi used in KK1. That got rid of a massive bruise overnight.... The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.

Akaratechick
I haven't watched that movie in a long time, I should rent it or buy it. I could probably get some ideas for the kids in our class, like I really need my car washed and waxed, that's actually a pretty good idea for fundraising for maybe new equipment or something, like a demo and carwash combination...hmmm Gee, thanks for the inspiration "All your life you are told the things you cannot do. ps1
If it's not black and blue, it's not a bruise. It may be the same type of feeling though. Additionally, if it feels like you're stepping on a rock, that means something is either swollen or chipped or broken. You should go to a doctor. An x-ray will determine if it's a chip or break. Most likely just an injury to a tendon in the ball of the foot. In which case rest and some anti-inflammatory (motrin) meds will do the trick. The most important thing to remember is when it begins to feel better, pamper it for another week or two. It's still weak during that time and that's when people usually re-injure themselves. Akaratechick
Thanks, you know come to think of it, it may be from staying of the ball of my feet for a long time, I used to cheat and kick flat footed, I would rely on my flexibility to compensate, but after my back surgery(fractured vertabrae) all the hardware in my back limits my flexiblility and I couldn't cheat anymore, and my foot is probably just tempering itself. If it doesn't heal in a timely manner I will get it seen. Thank you "All your life you are told the things you cannot do. jaymac
While in class one day, I stepped off the edge of a step in my barefeet and somehow caused the most painful injury to the ball of my foot. It never bruised either, but I had pain there for weeks. I toughed it out cause I did it at the dojo, but had I done it at work- I would of milked that baby for some time off -------------> just kidding!
