bushido_man96 Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Did anyone notice that the fight scene at the end of the first movie ends a lot like the fight scene at the end of the third movie? Watch them and take a look. Very fishy... https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Shui Tora Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 So... what are you trying to say? That there is a conspiracer (sp?) behind the making of the Karate Kid? *ghostly*... [j/k] To know the road ahead; ask those coming back... ~ Chinese Proverb" The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants. Jiffy Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 HAHAHAHAHA, no, just that the creators had little imagination. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Zorbasan Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 i rekon its because it was the same tournament.now its just me, but im guessing when you 2 tournaments there are going to be a lot of repeat entrants, thus making it look very similar.plus, it would be cheaper to use stock footage. Now you use head for something other than target.

Watch the last fight, after he does the final technique in each movie, and watch the guy sprawl in pain on the mat. It looks exactly the same. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
parkerlineage Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I do believe I noticed that the last time I watched the movies... American Kenpo Karate- First Degree Black Belt"He who hesitates, meditates in a horizontal position."Ed Parker
koryu Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 without doing any research on the subject, here's my opinion...I always felt that the writers attempted to base the movie around the goju system. I do know that in one of the movies (maybe the second one?) they are running seiyunchin kata. Also, the name "mr. miyagi". i don't know, maybe just a coincidence. "On Ko Chi Shin"
Jiffy Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I think the story line was based more around Goju, but the actual movements may not have been. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Zorbasan Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 the miyagi family kata was a goju kata aswell (from no 3)i think this thread has turned a full circle now. Now you use head for something other than target.
Jiffy Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I think so.... let's start again...I've been wondering what style was used in the Karate Kid series. I think they do Goju-Ryu style karate because from research i learned that Goju-Ryu is not Japanese but Okinowan, and the creator of the art was Miyagi Chojun. In the movie Mr. Miyagi also has the same name and also is from Okinowan origin. So my guess is Goju-ryu, what does everyone else think?MWAHAHAHA The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
