bushido_man96
As long as you are not WHACKING the kid on the head, but just a light tap, it becomes more of a fun game to kids than anything else, and they learn.I find that using the blocking-bats, with the thick, padded areas, are great for this exercise.Heck, the kids think it is fun. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
pittbullJudoka
I saw a female instructor who used the hit to the top of the head to teach her students to keep their hands up. She didn't do more than tap the on the head and tell them to keep their hands up but in turn she did not have such a young student. It work for her students. CTTKDKing
My teacher likes to use the foam noodles you use as floatation devices in pools. He gets the long ones and cuts them to about 3 foot lengths. Those are great for the bop on the head technique because they dont hurt at all, unless you really put a rediculus amount of effort into it, and yet they are hard enough where you still really feel it. Chris05
I would have to say ask him perform the kick and if he messes up hold his hands up while he does the kick eventually it will become second nature.

bushido_man96
ps1 is right. You just have to get in there and go at it. You will eventually learn how to move and block. It all comes with experience. Different things work for different people. You will find your favorite moves and combinations, counters, etc. It just takes time. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
