I used to never say "chick" out of respect because I thought that women hated it, but then I noticed that all of my friends call all females "chicks", the girls moreso than the guys! So now if I ever say it, I dont feel guilty. lol
Bitseach Posted May 9, 2002 Posted May 9, 2002 What is this sexist (maybe racist) crap doing still on these boards? If you want to lech after people of different ethnicities I'm sure there are web-sites dedicated to that sort of thing. Why has this thread not been locked yet, Senseis/Sampais? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My karma will run over your dogma~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Radok Posted May 9, 2002 Author Posted May 9, 2002 because, in case you haven't noticed-THIS IS THE OFF TOPIC BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :kaioken: If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point. Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.
Bitseach Posted May 13, 2002 Posted May 13, 2002 Your logical non sequiturs aside, this is still sexist and racist! Do you want the Senseis to make a special area for blokes to be lecherous about ethnic groups? Off-topic indeed! Sheesh! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My karma will run over your dogma~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Patrick Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 Bitseach. This thread may be called sexist, I can see how that could be. Racist, no. As for Lecherous: lech - A strong, especially sexual desire or craving. lechery - Excessive indulgence in sexual activity; lewdness. This thread is neither. Threads like this are allowed and will be allowed. Some people may not like them. Some people do. Most people don't care. If this is "lechery" - I'd assume that you never talk about guys with your best girlfriend (I am assuming you are a women)? That would be committing lechery by your definition. This is nothing but a bunch of guys talking about girls and its not really that bad. This thread is just guys talking about which girls they like, etc. Sure, it may not be the most tasteful topic. There are even people saying things like: "All women are beautiful in many ways. When you get older you will see." " I go to a school that has a huge population of Japanese students. From a purely superficial standpoint, Japanese girls seem to be just like any other girls. Some are hot and some are in the middle and some are not so hot. Some people may like them for novelty just as they like girls or guys of a certain ethnicity or whatever." If you don't like it, don't read it. But, do not demand publicly that I or the Senseis do anything to fit your personal whim. We do take suggestions from people on a thread that may need attention, but we do not guarentee that we will agree with that person. You may want to stop reading the General Chat and Serious Discussion all together if you are upset by subjects like this. _________________ Patrick O'Keefe KarateForums.com - Administrator/Grandmaster RIP - Left Eye [ This Message was edited by: Patrick on 2002-05-16 10:01 ] Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com? Bitseach Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 Definitely sexist. Absolutely racist. Lewd? Absolutely! I *have* questioned the editorial policy but I understood that we both lived in countries where free speech was respected and encouraged and didn't expect such an over-sensitive response. I wasn't aware that we had to agree with you over every little thing. Incidently, I have had many messages of support from others who agree with me but are afraid to speak out because they have seen the response that I have got! I am not - again - writing this in anger, but certainly in disappointment, as I believe that it reflects nothing better than stubbornness because I dared to challenge you over general closure policy, thinking that debate would be seen as a good thing, not a threat to you personally. Forgetting that for a minute, this thread's being allowed to continue is a disgrace. You have chosen to make this public again. I PMed you, on your suggestion, and received nothing better than, well if you don't like it maybe you should just go away, a view you now repeat! But clearly there is no point continuing this as I have quite clearly got your back up by challenging your policy and you are never going to listen to anything I say now. It's a sad day for a "discussion" forum. However that's my last word on the subject. [gagged] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My karma will run over your dogma~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Patrick Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 This topic is out of hand, now. So I am going to close it. Just one thing to say. I have said it before - and I will say it again. Anyone that has ever tried to be disrespectful to me or come after me in some way, has cited "other people in hiding." I have come to learn and understand that these people are few and far between, not unimportant, but few and far between.
