mantis Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 they could hurt at the beginning if ur not used to stances like the horse stance (which they make us do for long minutes)if makes ur legs stronger tho, especially when u feel they're shaking and you can walk or crawl anymore..btw, styles like wushu do take other styles to the extreme.I can compare it to 7-star mantis.. im told wushu goes as low as two ft in height, which is not something you want to do when you fight vs. standing tall in a tiger-ride in the 7-star mantis gung fu...
mantis Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 by the way, this post reminds me of Aerosmith for some reason!
Muaythaiboxer Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 lol the last sentence of your post could be a song those low stances are really good for your knees they make your leg stronger. so next your in horse stance and your knees hurt just remember this little quote."pain is weakness leaveing the body" Fist visible Strike invisible
mantis Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 hmmspeaking of thatin your opinion what's the point of horse stance to start with?
Muaythaiboxer Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 to get your legs strong... i really hope people dont plan on fighting that way they will get smashed. Fist visible Strike invisible
mantis Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 actually we were taught to use the horse stance very lowly when doing a side-punch. it does help you control ur center of weight, but it's not as popular as in wushu or something
dtstiachi Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I think I have solved my knee issues (I was doing a posture wrong). I hope you all have the same luck. so far 9 weeks w/ no pain. "The journey of a 1,000 miles starts with but a single step."
