black sash celebration

Recommended Posts

did any of u ever have a party when u gained black sash/belt if u did not then what did u do instead. i was just curious.

you must learn different combinations of techniques down to your very soul and they must come without thinking when you finish with one technique, you must immediately go into another until you have attained your goal which is to destroy the enemy.

Usually, after a black belt testing, I would go eat a great big feast of a meal, and then crash. After award ceremonies, I never really celebrated much. Maybe, if there was a bunch of us that would have passed at once, we could have. Good idea, though.

After my black belt test, my instructor took me out to breakfast. Then after my ceremony (6 months later) my parents and family took me to a resturant for dinner to celebrate.

My sister passed her balck belt 6 weeks ago... As it was a really warm and sunny day, on a Saturday, we had my Sensei's family round to ours for a barbeque... Really fun!

Lovely food! :D

We hav a tradition of having to wear your belt for 24 hours. There's a get together as well, usually for supper or a BBQ.

i just went home and ate a bunch of ice cream and watched tv

my sensei had to take the guy i tested with to the hospital so i couldn't really do anything with them. The guy bruised his ribs while sparring.

I went home and slept. I was buggered.

I have another two black belt tests at the end of this year (one for hapkido, one for Karate), so it will be interesting to see what we'll do then.

After my first Black Belt test, I didn’t do anything to celebrate. It was really late and I was more than tired. After my three subsequent Black Belt tests I think I went out to eat with my family or something small.

I have participated in others’ Black Belt celebrations though. One student that passed his test a couple months after me brought in a nice juicy brisket and some side dishes for everyone to eat. That was a nice treat for everyone.

My first BB "test" was like any other day...go to class, get told to wear a Black Belt to the next class, go home. The second one was a bit more intense and afterwards everyone wanted to go out to celebrate. I was so tired I drank one margarita and crashed in the car! The school I am currently with has a traditional dinner out after the test...not required but a good way to welcome the new Black Belts into the family.

After both BB tests that I took, I went out to eat with a few of the other newly promoted Black Belts and then I just went home and crashed.
