van_damme Posted April 28, 2002 Posted April 28, 2002 ok..i need HELP!!!..i have this maths question..and if i dont do this one..then my maths teacher is just gonna kill me...she is one of those teachers who pic on u coz ur not exactly the best student in the class...anyway..here is the question..I NEED FULL WORKING OUT IF U CAN!!! A shop employs 8 men and 2 women The mean weekly wage of the 10 employees is £396 The mean weekly wage of the 8 men is £400 Calculate the mean weekly wage of the 2 women? GOOD LUCK..i need this done by 2morrow morning When you put water into a cup,it becomes the cup. When you put water in a T-Pot,it becomes the T-Pot..be water my friend!!
Taokara Posted April 28, 2002 Posted April 28, 2002 All i know is that the mean is the average of something hope that helps buddy. I am training for myself not anyone else.. to be the best I can be in everything.
YODA Posted April 28, 2002 Posted April 28, 2002 OK here goes.... To get the total mean you must have had to divide the total wages by the number of people - so mean = total / number We know the mean (396) and the number (10) so we get - 396 = total / 10 total = 396 * 10 = 3960 (total all wages) We can do the same for just the men... total = 400 * 8 = 3200 (total mens wages) So - the total wages for the women must be 3960 - 3200 = 760 There are 2 women - so their mean wage must be 760/2 = 380 ..... Bon Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 Aw, I was hoping for a real math problem. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
tessone Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 Let G and H be groups, f:G->H be a group homomorphism, and e1 and e2 be the identity elements in G and H respectively. Then prove that f(e1) = e2. And a math joke: Q: What is purple and commutes? A: An Abelian grape. Chris TessoneBrown Belt, Kuk Sool Won
YODA Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 Easy peasy f(e1) = e2. - 'cos I say so and I've got a big stick!
