think of Tang Soo Do as Tae Kwon Do only more traditional. and TKD beign the most popular martial art in the world. TSD isn't a nad choice...however it all comes down to how you train!!!

This depends on the TKD school in question. I think my school is very "traditional." We are not a WTF school, which is what I think you might be getting at. However, I think that WTF could be traditional as well. What exactly is your definition of "more traditional?" I am curious. Thanks in advance!

Tang Soo Do is not necessarily more traditional than Tae Kwan Do. It depends on the individual instructors. This idea was spread mostly because TKD was formed the react to Hwan Kee's growing success in Korea with TSDMDK.

Ive reserched it in my student manual and TSD and TKD acually started near the same time, the only difference is TSD started as a martial art and TKD started as a sport and they got more different from there.

P.S. How do you change the icon from white belt to green belt? Cause thats what I am.

John, the little coloured belt under a persons user name changes colour the more you post. New members start out as a white belt, working through various colours, until you reach 1000 posts, by which time the belt icon will change to black. It's just a fun system of showing who has posted a lot and who hasn't posted as much.

TSD is a great martial art, but all instruction is based upon who is instructing it.

I agree with you here. Most of the time, regardless of style, whether many stay or go is reliant on the instructor's approach to teaching.

I agree that it all depends on the teacher, I attened East Mississippi Tang Soo Do and at the region 6 championship (which includes Mississippi, Alabama, Tennesse, and Louisiana) everyone in my class placed , including me, I got gold:)
