Anbu Alex Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Does anyone know anywhere that i can buy a bo jo or hanbo that is very durable White belt for life"Destroy the enemies power but leave his life"
Regulat0r Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Any website that sells staffs made of purple heart are as durable as you're going to get.
lordtariel Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 If you're looking for a lower cost option though, look for red or white oak. I've had my white oak staff for about a year now and have had no problems with it. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
parkerlineage Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I'm getting a custom made white oak staff. Heavy, but not cumbersome, and durable - also domestic, so not as expensive. American Kenpo Karate- First Degree Black Belt"He who hesitates, meditates in a horizontal position."Ed Parker
Anbu Alex Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 this is gonna sound like a crazy question but can they take good hits with the bokken cause lately ive been destroying Bo's (guess my cutting is getting better) and my sensei gave me the hw to look for a good place to by bo's White belt for life"Destroy the enemies power but leave his life"
lordtariel Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Any hard contact with another weapon is going to cause damage. More so with a bokken because the impact is concentrated. I believe oak holds up a bit better than ash in that regard but it's heavier, while ash will make for a lighter weapon that still has quite a bit of strength.. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Anbu Alex Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 kool thanks for the info ppl White belt for life"Destroy the enemies power but leave his life"

koko1969 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Gotta love white oak. Now, if I only had the resources to make my own... I have several dozen white oak trees (and some Ash) in my backyard!
Sojiro47 Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 This might sound stupid, but my Bo is a former broom stick. It surprisingly can take some pretty hard hits. "Karate isn't being able to fight, but knowing when to." Shihon Morris Mack
