ps1
I think it depends on how long you've been training Goju. It may just get in your way if you're not already an advanced practitioner. Hapkido will definitely teach slightly different basics. Other than that I say go for it. You can never learn too much! Remember to talk it over with your instructor also. bushido_man96
I say go for it. You can learn great manipulation tactics from Hapkido, and I think you will enjoy it. What style of Hapkido is it? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
jaymac
I agree with ps1, if you have the blessing of your current instructor, then give hapkido a try for awhile and see if you can train effectively in both styles. Good luck. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
Goju_boi
Hapkido along with Goju Kai is a great mix. Both arts will complement each other greatly. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu

cross
I think most people reach a certain point in their training when they feel the need to look for something more or something different. Its at this time when some venture out and try other styles, maybe finding what they were looking for. Others start to look deeper within the style they already do and find new things they didnt notice before, this gives there current training a new life so to speak.Has for your question Simo, I would say definetly give hapkido a try, if you like it im sure you will find it to be a great compliment to your goju, if you dont like it, then its just another experience you can add to the list. jaymac
You know Cross, I am a Nidan and I do not feel the need yet to find something else. I do not believe by far that I have learned all I can in my Art and from my Instructor. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others. Simo
I will never leave goju, i will never leave my sensei/ dojo, but yes, i wuld like to experience hapkido, not only for the art, but also the Korean Culture side aswell!I think tht is how i learn, not only from the art, but all the "theory" side of things, there customs.for example, the dicipline from Japan, wuld differ from the Korean way or diciplin, but yer, if u can kinda see what im getting at!Thanks for all ur replys! keep them coming!
