Hi all,

At the university I'm due to join there's a Wing Chun Kung Fu club and a Kung Fu club.

Could anyone tell me what the differences between these styles are likely to be? Presumably there are differences or it would just be KF club A and KF club B? :)

Thanks in advance,

Tim

I don't believe that there is a styled called simply "kung fu." It may be a different one than Wing Chun, and if you ask the instructor, he should be able to give you the run down of its characteristics. I don't know for sure how many styles of kung fu there are, but I do know it is a lot.

Do your research, and see which one you will like most.

Martial Arts-wise there are around 160 different forms of Kung Fu (if my memory serves me) and that does not include internal arts.

Ask the Sifu (instructor) of the "Kung Fu Club" what style(s) he teaches and ask for a run-down of what it consists of. Ask the Wing Chun Sifu th same question (what the style consists of) and decide which is for you.
