SBN Doug Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 What weapons do you use in your styles? In Kuk Sool Won I have yet to touch a weapon because only black belts are the ones who are allowed to practice weapons. Not true. You'll begin jung bong spinning and moving techniques as well as the basic sword cutting techniques with a wooden sword after you've reached Dan Bo Nim (2nd black stripe). Earlier if your school offers the extra "Black Belt Club" classes. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.

baronbvp Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I use a Katana for Kenjutsu, Bo Staff and Archery (Kyudo).Has anyone tried Kyudo? I took archery when I was a kid for three summers and then again in high school. I loved it. I had sort of forgotten about it, never really thought about it as a martial art. Maybe I'll add it to my styles list. Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.

On a serious note, the use of modern arms would be considered martial as well. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

KarateEd Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Cane (~red belt); nunchucks (brown belt); escrima sticks (1st dan BB); finally, weapon of choice.Ed Ed
Justin Treadaway Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Staff, Dao, Jindao, Dadao, Ku baton, Knife, escrima .Our main weapons are Staff, escrima, and dao. Arnis is all escrima, single and double. You only train with sticks in Modern Arnis and you learn how to defend against sticks/knifes/swords when unarmed. But a lot of the stick attacks/techniques have unarmed application. However, all of the sticks can be substituted with swords. We are kinda partial to sticks because my teacher's teacher was Remy Presas the creator of Modern Arnis.
Tkd_MMA Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I've had a crash course in several weapons. kama nunchucks bo katana tri section staff claymore broad sword. and even dirks, my weapon of choice is a katana sias are also fun to use.
