In addition to the belts mentioned, one style that I practice uses a black belt with red tips for 5th dan and a black belt with a red stripe down the center of the belt for 6th. jaymac Posted June 10, 2006 Share Posted June 10, 2006 My instructor also is a shichidan and he has a red and white blocked obi, but he usually wears his black belt with 7 red stripes on it.
