Uniform way too big and glossy.

What can I do to shrink my uniform a bit and make the shinyness of the new cotton to simmer down?

If it's all cotton, wash in hot water & dry on hot.

I wouldn't try it all at once, tho.

You might shrink it too much. Just try drying it first, then go to washing on hot if it's still too big. Then do both. It'll keep shrinking each time.

well, im saying its about two sizes too big, so how much would itg shrink, one size?

You'd be surprised at how quick some can shrink. Just try doing it once and go from there.

I like the soap, hot water and dryer idea. Two sizes too big...it may not shrink that much. I always liked a more roomier Gi thought so I'd be good with it

Before you do all that...are you able to return it for the correct size? That may be the most appropriate fix for the situation.

As far as the shiny newness goes...train and it will fade away.

the easiest way to shrink your gi is to wash it in the washer on cold, and dry it for about an hour or so. ive gone through 4 gis and doing this 3 or 4 times brings it to the perfect size

i leave it in hot water for 30 min, then i hang it outside while saturated with water, but i don't think it shrinks 2 size, plus sometimes some of the better gi(s), has been shrunk before.
