bushido_man96 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 What does IKO1 and IKO2 stand for? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Osu No Seichin Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 The names IKO1,2,3.4.5.and so on were names that were made up by a guy who maintains a website in Australia. There is only one IKOK, it is headed by Kancho Matsui in Japan and the name stands for International Karate Organization Kyokushinkai. It is by far the strongest and largest Kyokushin Organizaton in the world.
cathal Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Ah so the number are basically irrelevant then. How accurate was the information I found online? What is your take on this? .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
ps1 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Does anyone else really dislike the fact that the martial arts have to be so political? Arrrggg... "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
bushido_man96 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Does anyone else really dislike the fact that the martial arts have to be so political? Arrrggg...Yes, I hear you there. A little while ago we were dealing with some political issues between our school and the headquarters, but that all passed over....for now.Part of it stems from the fact that once a person reaches a certain level, like, 7th dan was mentioned, I think, that no one as a rank that high stays under them. Personally, I think it is bunk, and I know there are 7th degrees in the ATA, and they remain under their GM. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
cathal Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 We have 7th Dans in the JKA and they don't branch off the moment they get their 7th Dan. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
