getawaytkd Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 alright i went for it, focused my mind, and i broke the two boards without the glove, i hope the same goes for my testing in 2 days. all those eyes watching me...
ps1 Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Then you must become comfortable with the boards. Because if you are not comfortable with the boards...then you are not comfortable with the test. They are part and parcel. Do not allow two small pieces of wood demonstrate more resiliency than you. It sounds as though you have already given up mentally. If this is the case...no one here can help you. They are only wood, and you are only flesh. Either one can destroy the other...you decide which. jaymac Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Also think that the target is not those boards, but the area below past it. Think through the boards. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
cathal Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Sounds like you're going to do fine. Something to help build your confidence would be to keep up the practice, prove to yourself you can consistently break two boards. Something else you can do is check into breaking other materials (with the permission of your instructor of course) like thin stones. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
patusai Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Focus! Don't hit the boards hit beyond the boards. When guys aim for the fence in baseball they sometimes keep on hitting the ball off the fence. Aim beyond. Good luck "Don't tell me the sky's the limit because I have seen footprints on the moon!" -- Paul Brandt
