KarateK
Yes we skip grades, most common is white (9th kyu) to orange (7th kyu). Dont get it as often as you move higher up the grades, although at the last grading we had a purple belt (4th kyu) double grade to 2nd tab brown (2nd kyu). Was vvvvv unusual but he had double graded all the way through with well over the average marks. Was a black belt in shotokan and rather good i have to say. It also worked out well for me, as he double graded I got the award for highest marks in the overall grading RESULT!!! unknownstyle
i was test from 6th kyu to 4th after being a sixth kyu for a little over two months. i watched the higher ranks do there forms all the time and picked up on the quickly and my teacher said my technique was far above level.i didn't know i was double testing until he told me to do the other forms required for 4th kyu "Live life easy and peacefully, but when it is time to fight become ferocious." KarateK
We dont actually go into the grading knowing if we are going to double grade or not. It all depends on your marks and performance on the day Karate Ni Sentinashi
