younwhadoug Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 tobyfrom what i can tell it stretches all the groin area the hamstrings all down to the knees on all sides from what it feels like. after i use it for about 30 minutes i get off and do the splits in three directions just to make sure the right muscles get stretched... i have also noticed that tightening the legs while very stretched out releives some of the pain of the splits... i'm going up 5% every two or three days and am suprised at the preogress be polite, be patient, be alert, be brave, do your best, respect yourself and others. jaymac Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 We got one and before I actually knew how to use it, I got into it and got stuck in quite a split position. I did not know how to release it and kept working the handle, thinking it would eventually release. It did not! That was painful. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.

I did not know how to release it and kept working the handle, thinking it would eventually release. It did not! That was painful. Eeek, ouch! I've only ever used one once. It was good, but I can't afford one, so I just stick with stretching every day. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." Fairfax_Uechi Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I have never used one but I have heard they do help. However its like regular stretching it has to used on a regular basis. That is so true. Regular use helps SO MUCH. In my case, I can make great gains when I use it every day. But when I get lazy, and don't use it for several months I lose a great deal of flexibility. Now with that said, a few minutes every day really adds up over several months.
