younwhadoug Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 my wife brought home a splits machine or tool or what ever you call it. i have been using it for a week and have noticed some change.has anyone been successful with one of these or should i just rely on training to get me to do the splits???? be polite, be patient, be alert, be brave, do your best, respect yourself and others. Sohan Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I've used one. Still can't do the splits, but it did help. It's worth the money for some folks if it is ever actually used. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Brandon Fisher Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I have never used one but I have heard they do help. However its like regular stretching it has to used on a regular basis. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do
KarateK Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I have never heard of that but it sounds painful!!! What does it do? Karate Ni Sentinashi
Brandon Fisher Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Go to centuryfitness.com and look for their stretching machines. They also have a demo video on their site on how it is used. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do
ps1 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Yeah... I'm one of those naturally flexible people who have been able to do a split since I was 6. But I know several people who've used them. It worked for them. Just be careful not to go too far too fast. You don't want to get injured. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
SBN Doug Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I had one years ago. It did help a lot, but I never got to splits. After a couple years, the hydrolic mechanism gave out. So, I'm back to just sitting in a split stretch while I watch T.V. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
elbows_and_knees Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I've got a stretch rack by Hurley. They aren't a necessity, but they can be useful.
younwhadoug Posted May 13, 2006 Author Posted May 13, 2006 i'm about 40% off from maxin out this machine. i am looking forward to the progress. thanks for the tips be polite, be patient, be alert, be brave, do your best, respect yourself and others. Toby Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I'm thinking of getting one myself... I want to improve my kicking and I guess this would be a good way of doing that. What muscles in the leg do a splits machine work/strech though, like would it work/strech all of them, or just certain ones?
